After studying at London-based Sylvia Young Theatre School, Billie Piper's first break in the entertainment world came as a teenager, when she was selected for a television commercial promoting the pop magazine Smash Hits.
In 1998 she became the youngest artist ever to debut at number one in the UK singles chart with "Because We Want To", released under the single name "Billie".
Boozy night out: She recently announced her divorce from husband Laurence Fox and Billie Piper appeared to be worse for wear when out in Camden with her new boyfriend Johnny Lloyd and a host of friends'Billie was all over the place.
She and Johnny were kissing and holding each other all night.
In October 2000, Piper released her second album, Walk of Life.
Walk of Life reached the same chart position as her debut album (#14), but was only certified silver.
